This is the 14’ version of the Stornoway design, one of Selway Fisher’s range of Dinghies & Day boats. Her construction is based on the highly successful Kingfisher design with it’s continuous backbone set-up—consisting of a forward girder, centreboard case and aft girder fastened to a narrow bottom plank to form a rigid structure onto which the ply frames/bulkheads and transom are set-up.
The ply planks (6 per side) are then stitched into place and the seams finished with glass tape and epoxy.
She carries a gunter rig as standard so that the mast and spars fit within the hull for easy towing—she could also take the gunter yawl rig with bowsprit.
